A contingency plan should be incorporated into a Care and Support Plan, and should describe the strategies that will be implemented should the person’s needs change suddenly or there be disruptions to their normal care and support provision.
Corporately the Care Act also places a duty on local authorities to develop effective contingency plans in relation to Provider Failure. These plans are usually developed by the Commissioning Department or Directorate.
