Client Support Service

1. Introduction to the Service

The Client Support service provides assistance to Adult Social Care clients and staff. It consists of the following teams:

  1. Care Arrangers;
  2. Financial Assessment Team;
  3. Payments and Billing Team;
  4. Self- Directed Support;
  5. Complex Support.

Team Manager: Adele Samuel

Care Arrangers

Care Arrangers support Adult Social Care staff to secure services for clients who have been assessed as requiring care services, they liaise with clients, staff, and care providers in order to ensure that appropriate services are secure. The team are also responsible for updating support plans once a provider has been secured.

Financial Assessment Team

The Financial Assessment Team are responsible for maximising income to Adult Social Care by carrying out financial assessments to clients who require a care service, this also includes administration of the Deferred Payment Scheme. The Officers also maximise the income of clients by identifying and assisting with completing benefit claims.

Payments and Billing Team

The Payments & Billing Team are responsible for processing timely and accurate payments to care providers and raising invoices for adult social care clients for the services that they receive.

Self-Directed Support

The Self-Directed Support Team deal with all the financial aspects of Direct Payments once they have been set up, this includes the reconciliation and audit of Direct Payment accounts, closure of accounts and recovery of surplus monies from accounts. The team are also responsible for managing Supported and Virtual accounts.

Complex Support

The role of the team is to have oversight of all supported living vacancies and to assist social workers in identifying appropriate supported living placements for clients. The team also liaise with supporting living providers regarding scheme vacancies, staffing levels and costings.   Staff are also responsible for highlighting gaps in service provision.
