Community Mental Health Teams
Together with the Oxleas NHS Trust Bromley Council provide an integrated service for people who require mental health support, and their carers. Services are provided through Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) based in Penge, Bromley and Orpington. The teams provide social care social care support on behalf of London Borough of Bromley to residents with mental health support requirements.

The primary purpose of these procedures is to support adult social care practitioners in the CMHT's to perform their statutory functions under the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act.
Those also performing functions under the Mental Health Act should refer to:

- Guidance on the support of mental health social workers working in NHS, independent or integrated services;
- Any available Oxleas NHS Trust procedures.
