Drug and Alcohol Team (DAAT)
1. Introduction to DAAT
Addiction is common and wherever a person is, or whatever the problem, there are people who can help.
2. New Hope
New Hope provides a friendly, free and confidential service to anybody who is seeking help with a drug and/or alcohol addiction.
We run a 10-week rolling recovery day programme which includes the following courses:
| Mindfulness | In our mindfulness course we discuss the difference between fact and thoughts or opinions. |
| Change | In this group we look at the stages of recovery. |
| Staying Safe | This group is about supporting the person through relapse prevention and harm reduction. |
| Foundations of Recovery | This group looks at setting goals, one day at a time approach. |
| Thinking Hope | This group looks at motivation, self-esteem and decision making. |
| All about you | This group is all about the person, helping them to take control of their physical and mental health so that they can build healthy relationships. It includes the concept of positive thinking and how this can improve emotional wellbeing. |
