1. Responsibilities:
- To ensure that the LSCB meets the requirements of Working Together to Safeguard Children 2006 to establish a Child Death Overview Panel.
- To ensure CDOP fulfils its Terms of Reference
- To chair bi-monthly meetings of the CDOP.
- To agree the agenda and minutes with the CDOP Co-ordinator and Administrator.
- To ensure appropriate child deaths or groups of deaths are identified for consideration by the Panel in line with the agreed criteria.
- To assist in resolving any professional difficulties, which the Coordinator has been unable to.
- To represent CDOP at local and regional events.
- To raise any health/public health concerns regarding individual deaths/pattern of deaths in a timely manner with LSCB.
- To agree Annual Report and present to WSCB
2. Accountability:
- To be accountable to the Chair of WSCB
