Care Programme

Care Programme is a generic term used by the Continuum Group to mean internal plans or agreements used to outline the arrangements for delivery of a service. For example, for children placed in Foster Care, 'Care Programme' means Foster Care Agreement. For children placed in children's homes, it means Placement Plan. For children in education it means Individual Education Plan/IEP and/or Home/School Agreement. Care Programmes may incorporate a behaviour management plan or strategies, arrangements for enhancing partnerships between staff, carers and parents, arrangements for contact, daily routines or self care. Children placed in children's homes or foster care also have an Individual Crisis Management Programme (ICMP), which incorporates a risk assessment for physical intervention.
