This manual was updated in March 2012  with a few minor amendments to chapters and with additional chapters added to the contents – where a Chapter is new or amended, it is shown as such in the Contents List (New or Amended) changes are also summarised in the quick guide on an amendments table and summarised at the start of the relevant Chapter.

In August 2011, this Manual was updated to reflect changes emanating from the Care Planning Regulations 2010 and the New Children's Homes Regulations and Standards 2011.

NOTE: All staff should read 'Quick Guide' before proceeding.
