Welcome to your procedures manual

Manual Version 4, November 2008

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to this the third edition of the Bradford Department of Services to Children and Young People electronic procedures manual which became operational and replaced all other versions of the manual in October 2008. This edition has a completely new look to it and it incorporates the Bradford Safeguarding Children Board Procedures. The two manuals are completely linked to one another so users do not have to jump from one manual to the other. There is a stand alone version of the Safeguarding Children's Board manual on the SCB website which can be accessed by other professionals. The content is the same as the content of the SCB part of the integrated manual.

Existing Users will note that new chapters have 'New' against them in the contents sheet and this is also noted in the scope box at the head of the chapter.

Chapters that have been revised are noted as 'Updated' in the contents list and the scope box at the head of the chapter draws the reader's attention to the section of the manual that has been revised.

There is a new Search facility which will find chapters, headings and sub-headings aswell as keywords.

This version of the manual has also been revised so that links are made to and from keywords to the relevant chapters. For example, if the reader clicks on the keyword Initial Assessment, the keyword box includes a link to the relevant chapter . (Why not try it to see if it works!)
